Engagement 06 · Healthcare · Website + stewardship

A healthcare redesign that stayed in production for six years.

The 2018 redesign became Windsor Radiology's patient-facing web platform — responsive, workflow-oriented, and taken through stakeholder review into production. It stayed under continuous stewardship through July 2024, when the relationship concluded following Princeton Radiology's acquisition of the practice.

Following acquisition

Windsor Radiology engaged an independent developer in 2018 for a redesign and stayed with that developer for six years. The value of the record is its durability, not a performance claim — no traffic or conversion metrics are published here.

01 — The redesign

The problem was bigger than a visual refresh.

Windsor needed a modern, responsive, patient-facing website — one that presented real clinical information clearly and let patients take real actions from a phone. The redesign was scoped around usability and structure, not styling.
  • 01

    Responsive usability

The public experience had to work on a phone first. Layout, navigation, and content structure were rebuilt for a mobile-ready patient audience rather than adapted after the fact.

  • 02

    Patient navigation

Procedures, physicians and radiologists, questionnaires, and patient resources were organized so a visitor could find the specific thing they came for.

  • 03

    Operational actions

Appointment requests, online bill pay, PACS and resource access, and contact routing — the actions a practice website actually has to carry.

  • 04

    Production readiness

Privacy and compliance content, final imagery and copy, and iterative stakeholder review before anything went live.

02 — Patient workflows

The website had to move patients into real workflows.

A radiology practice website is not a brochure. Every page had to end somewhere useful — a request submitted, a form completed, a payment made, a record reached, or a message delivered to the right person.

Path

  1. Find information
  2. Choose a patient action
  3. Submit / access resource
  4. Route to staff or system
  • Appointment request

Submitted online and routed to staff

  • Exam questionnaires

    Pre-visit patient forms

  • Online bill pay

    Linked payment path

  • PACS / patient resources

    Imaging and record access

  • Contact / Ask a Radiologist

    Directed email routing

Operations evidence

By November 2019, Windsor correspondence referred to Bonitto / iCandy Webs as “our web developer,” and a BAA was requested in connection with patient information submitted through online appointment requests.

That reflects the operational responsibility the role carried around patient-submitted information. It is not a claim of HIPAA certification, and no blanket compliance posture is asserted for the site.

03 — Approval to production

Built through review, not around it.

Clinical content does not ship on a developer's word. The redesign moved forward through administrator coordination and physician review, with September 2019 correspondence describing the site as in the home stretch and final physician edits landing that October before go-live.

04 — Six years of stewardship

Launch was the beginning of the operating relationship.

From production in 2019 through July 2024, the site stayed under continuous stewardship — the ordinary, unglamorous work that keeps a patient-facing property functioning year after year.
  • Routine updates

Site and content changes as the practice changed.

  • Patient-facing forms

Keeping appointment requests, questionnaires, and resource paths working.

  • Delivery troubleshooting

In April 2023 — years after launch — appointment-request delivery and formatting were still being diagnosed and corrected with Windsor and Princeton IT.

  • Client-side IT coordination

Working alongside internal IT as email and systems changed around the site.

  • Continuity

Six years of the same responsible party, rather than a one-time delivery.

05 — Timeline

  1. Jul 2018

    First contact

Windsor Radiology administrator Celeste Vignets made initial contact on July 6, 2018. A proposal titled “Windsor Radiology - UX Design, Development, & Website Maintenance” followed on July 15, with early discussion explicitly covering a website rebuild, mobile optimization, and ongoing maintenance.

  2. Oct 2018

    Engagement formalized

On October 2, 2018 Windsor requested the contract and the engagement moved forward.

  3. 2018 — 2019

    Redesign build

Responsive behavior, physician and radiologist content, procedure pages, patient questionnaires, online bill-pay linking, PACS and patient resources, appointment-request workflows, contact and email routing, imagery, and privacy/compliance content — built through iterative stakeholder review.

  4. Sep — Oct 2019

    Home stretch and launch prep

By September 2019 the site was described as in the “home stretch.” Final physician edits were folded in through October ahead of go-live.

  5. Nov — Dec 2019

    Production and operational responsibility

Windsor correspondence referred to Bonitto / iCandy Webs as “our web developer,” and a BAA was requested in connection with patient information submitted through online appointment requests. December discussions covered the new website and a replacement appointment-request backend in production.

  6. 2020 — Jul 2024

Six years of stewardship, then a clean close

Ongoing production support: site and content updates, patient-facing form upkeep, and coordination with client-side IT — including April 2023 troubleshooting of live appointment-request delivery and formatting with Windsor and Princeton IT. Service concluded after July 2024, following Princeton Radiology's acquisition of Windsor Radiology.

Close

Princeton Radiology acquired Windsor Radiology in 2024. July 2024 was the final month of service, and the engagement closed there — a clean lifecycle boundary. The Windsor site was subsequently replaced; that later work sits outside this engagement.
